Writer Arundhati Roy on Tuesday cast doubts over Anna Hazare’s anti-graft campaign saying the civil society’s Jan Lokpal Bill is a “dangerous piece of legislation”.
Arundhati Roy :“I am skeptical about the legislation (Jan Lokpal Bill) itself for a good number of reasons. I think the legislation is a dangerous piece of work,”Ms. Roy told CNN-IBN in an interview.
Common Man : Since 40 years Lokpal bill is in pending. Why? You know the answers! Are you tried any time to enact the bill? With out this dynamic movement, can you suggest dynamic method.
Arundhati Roy :Alleging that the civil society used public anger in their favour, the Booker Prize winner novelist said “You (civil society) used the real and legitimate anger of the people against corruption to push through this specific piece of legislation which is very regressive. It could have turned from something inclusive to destructive and dangerous.”
Common Man:You are agreeing “public angry” about Institutionalized Corruption and bribery. Civil society takes birth only from “Public angry”Your thoughts about civil society are not correct, Anna , Kiran, Arvind ,Prasanth are only representatives of Common Man. Cause is more important so that it was supported by all most all people. There is no danger to parliamentary democracy. Now people are thinking before support a movement, literacy percenage is developed in India, not onlyArundhati Roy so many are educated and intelligent. If the cause is not correct definitely People will reject. So, don’t worry.
Arundhati Roy :Calling the Hazare-led movement a “copy book World Bank agenda”, Ms. Roy said “It was an NGO-driven movement by Kiran Bedi, (Arvind) Kejriwal and (Manish) Sisodia.
Common Man: Do you have any evidences? What is the use for World bank? Since 40 years governments and parliamentarians kept the bill in pending. Day by day apex people involving in big scams and bandit public money( No explanation is required) Lokpal bill was proposed to stop corruption in apex level, because of self interests, It was not enacted till date. History is telling If the governments are in sleep or acting sleep, NGO s or patriots will take a lead, after correcting the system, movements will be closed, example Freedom Movement In India.
Arundhati Roy: “Three of them run NGOs and all the three core team members are Magsaysay Award winners… World Bank and Ford Foundation fund the anti-corruption campaigns. This is copy book World Bank agenda though they might have not meant it.”
Common Man : It is complete wrong statement, Because of their own ability they get the awards like you. After getting Booker prize are you working as a agent to Booker Institute? Movement collected the money from supporters of the movement, Ten to hundred rupees contribution of supporters made required amount. They are ready to give account for each Rupee..
Arundhati Roy : said “Anna Hazare was picked up and propped up as the saint for the masses. He was not the brain behind the movement. We really need to be worried about it.”
Common Man: Baseless comment, with out Kiran, Arvind, Santhi Bushan Annd did so many agitations and succeeded. Like you he is not a writer and English knowledge, but have a capacity to understand more than IAS. candidate.
Arundhati Roy also said: the Hazare-led movement was not the same thing as a people’s movement and accused the media of engineering it. “Obviously people joined in but all of them were not middle class and many came for a sort of reality show well orchestrated by media campaigns,” “For a nation of one billion people, the media did not find anything else to report. Certain major TV channels campaigned for said to be doing so. That’s a kind of corruption for me at first place,” “If it was only for TRP then why not to settle for pornography or something which gives more TRP?”
Common Man: Media did very good role to unite democrats. They fulfilled their responsibility in correct time. They have identified the cause like Common people and encouraged the Movement. Do you know? after internet revolution people not interesting to see pornography. Please don’t give your useless advice to matured media.
Final conclusion of Common Man : Arundhati Roy’s statements are baseless, Some Undemocratic forces encouraging her to do wrong statements to wrong directing the illiterates. To utilizing her Booker prize fame she is miss using the Media and news papers and trying to wrong directing the Common people. She is only a writer of Novels to keep the readers in illusion, and have a good English knowledge only, but She is not a intelligent to understand the public opinion.
She is jealous about ‘ANNA TEAM’ Success. Because nobody called her to participate in the movement. It is not a wedding party to call.

Business Standard published this morning an interview with Arvind Kejriwal and Steven Solnick, India country Rep of Ford Foundation in an article titled Claims that Hazare’s movement is US-funded baseless: Arvind.
They confirmed Arundhati Roy’s charge that Kabir, a Kerjiwal NGO received $ 400,000 during the last 3 years as funding from Ford Foundation. On the broader allegations whether the US steamrolled the Anna Hazare anti-corruption agitation, they drove themselves further to a corner.
